Redoxoma researcher receives a Collaborative Research Grant from the International Brain Research Organization
Researcher Danilo Bilches Medinas, from the Laboratory of Redox Neurobiology at the Departamento de Bioquímica at IQ/USP and a member of the RIDC Redoxoma, received a Collaborative Research Grant from the International Brain Research Organization (#IBROGrant).
The grant will support the study of the dynamics and spatial organization of the brain proteome in models of neurological diseases conducted in collaboration with the group of Dr. Eugenio Fornasiero from the Universitätmedizin Göttingen, Germany.
Medinas and his group investigate the biogenesis of proteins in the nervous system and its relationship with neuronal morphogenesis and plasticity, as well as the impairment of these processes in neurological diseases.
“This grant will allow us to strengthen a strategic alliance between our research group and a center of excellence in developing new high-resolution methodologies in proteomics and bioinformatics analysis,” the researcher said.
