Redoxoma researchers receive SfRBM Travel Awards
Postdoc Phablo Abreu and doctoral student Rogério Aleixo Silva received Travel Awards to present their work at the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine’s 26th Annual Conference (SfRBM 2019), to be held November 20-23, 2019, in Las Vegas, USA.
Phablo Abreu is a postdoctoral fellow at the Energy Metabolism Laboratory at the Instituto de Química of Universidade de São Paulo USP, under the supervision of Professor Alicia Kowaltowski. He will present the work Endurance exercise promotes muscle stem cell self-renewal and repair function in adult skeletal muscle through inhibition of mitochondrial respiration.
Rogério Aleixo Silva is a Ph.D. student at the Protein and Redox Biology Laboratory at the Instituto de Biociências da Universidade de São Paulo (USP), under the supervision of Professor Luis ES Netto, and will present the work Structural and biochemical characterization of LsfA, 1-Cys Prx involved in Pseudomonas aeruginosa virulence.
